Be certain that your irrigation system has been winterized for the winter season.  Have all water supplies valves closed tightly and all outdoor faucets left open.  Also, make sure that outdoor back flow preventor bleeds are left open.  Turn timers to their off position.  It is also a good idea to disconnect the batteries and unplug the timers for the winter months.
