The State of Rhode Island has now adopted laws requiring your irrigation contractor to become licensed by the State of Rhode Island. All existing contractors are required to complete application procedures before June 30, 2002. Like any licensed plumber or electrician, your irrigation contractor needs possess a comprehensive knowledge of irrigation systems. They must also complete arduous testing, and satisfy a required amount of working hours to become licensed.
